Topdog/Underdog is the story of a struggle between two brothers who were left by their parents when they were young. Their parents had a sick sense of humor and named them Lincoln and Booth. The two brothers always try to be better than the other, but where one fails, the other succeeds and vise versa.

We put the brothers in a decaying apartment to reflecting how the brother's relationship becomes more and more faded and unclear. The apartment was incased in the ghost of the Ford's Theater where President Lincoln was shot. This ghostly presences not only foreshadows what happens at the end of the show, but is a metaphor for how the brothers are always "acting" for one another to make the other think they are doing better.
